Air Handlers
IN LINE HEATER BYPASS
INLINE DUCT HEATER
In this picture you will notice the duct work under the in line heater. Notice the lever inthemiddle of the duct work.So in the winter time you CLOSE that damper to concentrate all the airflow through the in line heater. In the SUMMER you OPEN the damper to mostly bypass the inline heater for max flow (Cooling) to the space.
This particular type of heater used is very common in older grocery store. So generally what will happen is a call will come in says store “too cold” first things to check is the position of the bypass damper, and then remove the front panel and in the upper right hand corner is a push button reset, push that button and most likely the heater will come on, if not then you will need to resort to further diagnosing the heater, such as checking for power and make sure the gas shutoff valve is ON.
